Today, using our interpretations of the codes of chivalry and courtly love, we created our own medieval coat of arms. We did this by choosing six codes to live by: two from the code of chivalry, one from the code of courtly love, one symbol that represents you as a person, and one symbol that represents your family.
For the phrase to put in the bottom scroll feature, we googled "Latin phrases coat of arms" and looked at the first three sites for reference points (as we do not all know Latin ;). We picked one that we felt was representative of our own beliefs.
Finally, for each item we put on our coat of arms, a short explanation 2-3 sentences was given on the back for the choice and how it fits the person represented by this coat of arms.
Homework was to read and take notes on pp. 99-104 about Geoffrey Chaucer and The Caterbury Tales. Worksheet to take notes on is attached in the previous posting.
