Welcome to class today! I am happy to see all of you!
Unfortunately, I have almost no voice today, and cannot speak well above a whisper... so, this will be an interesting class period! In the absence of my voice, we are still going to read Act One of Macbeth, but with a few adaptations.
First, we will be reading from the No Fear Shakespeare web version of Macbeth; it will provide explanation and interpretation of lines that I cannot provide verbally. It will be up to you to read the "translation" at the right, although parts will still be read using the original Shakespearean version on the left.
Second, I will use the bell to indicate time to pause and reflect on the sections that have just been read. Some of this reflection will require discussion with one another. I will then expect a few of you to share your thoughts and interpretations with the class.
Third, homework for this evening will be to complete the reading of Act One (if not done in class), and fill in the sections in the packet for Act One (scene and action logs and act analysis questions posted below).
Thank you in advance for your cooperation today! Let's try to make it a fun, productive class period!
