Extension of Quickwrites

SECOND HOUR:  For the Reading Focus on p. 405, you wrote about which of these perspectives you agreed with more and why:  "Knowledge is power" or "It is not what you know, but whom you know".  As an extension, you are to find supporting evidence of how what you believe is in agreement with an aspect of today's society.  This evidence may be in the form of a news article (as with the loyalty writing assignment), but you may also use "elements" of our society, such as songs, movies, television shows, speeches, books, businesses, etc.


THIRD HOUR:  For the Quickwrite on p. 212, you wrote about what you believed the good life to be, and why you felt this way.  As an extension, you are to find supporting evidence of how what you believe is the good life is also in existence in today's society.  This evidence may be in the form of a news article (as with the loyalty writing assignment), but you may also use "elements" of our society, such as songs, movies, television shows, speeches, books, businesses, etc.
