First of all, thank you all for working so hard the last two days on your quiz writings. I am sure that all your hard work will pay off, and I cannot wait to read them and discover your writing talents!
For homework, you will now be reading a portion of Beowulf on your own.
First, read p. 49 for a more extensive definition of alliteration and kenning.
Then, read pp. 39-46 (in the online text this is epic 5 and epic 6).
Take notes using the reading strategies (visualization, questioning, etc...), and find three examples each of alliteration and kennings from Beowulf reading (to find examples, you may go back to epics 1-4 also, pp. 21-38).
