The quiz on part one was given today in class.
The quiz consists of two written segments, both of which are abbreviated essays. Each response needs to be the body of the essay only, no conclusion or introduction.
The responses are written in the CON-PRO-PRO format, with a thesis statement first (model thesis statements provided), then the counterargument is presented in the first full paragraph, following by the two main point paragraphs that are PRO the writer's position.
We discussed how to include lines and textual support in written responses, and why this was important to include to support and strengthen one's argument.
Students were given about 45 minutes to write, with time for completion given in class tomorrow.
