Your writing assignment is to write a poem inspired by nature, using these four poetic techniques: personification, sensory details, metaphors, and strong, vivid word choice, especially with verbs.
Consider writing your poem about an awe-inspiring, powerful aspect of nature, as in Shelley's "Ode to the West Wind," or a reflection on a peaceful time you have spent with nature, as in Wordsworth's "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud."
Your poem should reference emotion, as in Blake's "A Poison Tree," and express that emotion with careful word choice and writing style.
Your poem must be at least ten lines long, and it does not have to rhyme, but should have a flow and rhythm to it. Include an image to go along with your poem as well, either found or created.
