Plan for Thursday, 2/16

In my absence today, please be the good students I know you all are and follow these directions.  As far as iPad use, you are to be using it for educational purposes only.  NO GAMES, even when/if your class work is completed!  Read the 1984 book or work on other homework when you are finished with today's English class work.  Thank you!

DIRECTIONS FOR TODAY's CLASS PERIOD:
First, please email me your Act Three analysis questions.
Next, you will be completing a timed writing for Macbeth.  This timed essay will be used as the writing portion for your final test over Macbeth (so, you will not need to write an essay on test day... yahoo! :)
This essay will be graded using the ACT rubric, which by now you are very familiar with ;-)
Please put forth your best effort, as this grade will eventually make up a portion of your final test grade.
iPads may NOT be out while you work on this essay, and be sure to include prewriting.  Please do not write on the prompt sheets.

When you are done with the essay (you will have 30 minutes to complete it), turn in your essay to the sub.  Next, you should pick up your copy of the novel we will be working on next in class, 1984 by George Orwell.  Please bring this book with you each day for class.

Your first reading assignment will be book one, due on Friday, March 2nd.

You may begin reading in this book today, and will have it over the long weekend to work on getting started on the reading.

You may also use this time to work on other homework if you choose.

This is NOT time for socializing or iPad misuse (gaming, etc.). Please be respectful of this rule, and do not abuse your iPad privileges.

Act Four analysis questions will not be due until we have read the remainder of this act together in class.
