Macbeth!

If you are absent at any point during this play, or need further clarification, you can go to this document for directions and the No Fear Shakespeare version of Macbeth to read what you missed.
You are responsible for making up all reading and questions/response work when you are absent.

Please record reactions to Acts 1-4 on THIS DOC (printed versions available as well).

Also, on packet given out in class, continue to track the development of THEMES and keep a TIMELINE OF EVENTS while you read (even if you are absent, you should still fill this out).

TED talk: "The Power of Imagination: Lessons from Shakespeare"

Choose two claims made by this opinionated writer in his colorful summary of the play in THIS ARTICLE.  For each claim, in a well-developed paragraph, express your own agreement or disagreement with his statement.  Use evidence from the play to support your ideas.

Read about DRAMATIC IRONY, then describe 2-3 places when you felt this at work as you watched the play.  You could also write about how you have seen this used in favorite books/movies/television shows.

Pick one of the following articles to read and write a summary of the main ideas you learn.  Then, share these ideas with your group members.
"The Curse and Superstition of Shakespeare's Macbeth"
"Blood Will Have Blood: Why Macbeth Still Inspires Artists"
Music in Macbeth

"Shakespeare's Macbeth and King James' Witch Hunts"
"The Real Macbeth" OR "Duncan and Macbeth"
"Shakespeare and the Gunpowder Plot"

What is to be your next Shakespearean experience?
