Today, we dove into learning more about the historical background of the Victorian era. We read sections of the text and took notes on the information given, judgments we could make about the time period based on the factual info. given, and reactions to what we read.
I will be condensing these notes into one document to help you learn more about the time period, especially as it relates to the audience context understandings for A Tale of Two Cities.
Additionally, a study guide for Book One (chapters 1-6) was sent to you. You should look up the vocabulary words and have recorded definitions for tomorrow. Use the Dictionary.com app we downloaded earlier this semester to help with this; also, all words are in chapter one, if you would like to see how they are used in context.
You were also reminded to download a free app for reading A Tale of Two Cities. Reading may progress at your own pace. Chapters 1-6 will be due on Wednesday, 12/7, as there will be a quiz on these readings that day.
If you have read Chapter One tomorrow, there will be an extra credit assignment you can complete.
